Fourth Grade Host Nation Standards
STANDARD I - Language Acquisition
The student will: ·4.1a. Follow directions ·4.1b. Recognize and use words of courtesy and respect ·4.1c. Relate the sound of the host nation language to the printed word ·4.1d. Know and use terminology related to history, geography, money, shopping, transportation, sport and leisure activities of the region ·4.1e. Answer simple questions in the host nation language related to municipal administration and public services ·4.1f. Participate in simple ·4.1g. Practice with native speakers ·4.1h. Use multimedia and information technology to learn about the host nation |
STANDARD II - Culture
The student will demonstrate understanding of characteristics, resources and rules of the host region. The student will: ·4.2a. Compare the host nation educational system to one’s own ·4.2b. Identify and explore local geographical attributes ·4.2c. Produce an historical timeline of the host nation region ·4.2d. Practice host nation customs and traditions ·4.2e. Participate in planning study trips ·4.2f. Assist in organizing an exchange with a partner class ·4.2g. Collect data for economic attributes and make conclusions about their significance to the region ·4.2h. Participate in social events of the region ·4.2i. Know and describe the role of the host nation municipal administration and public services ·4.2j. Join in a variety of activities |
